Buying Your First Ever Car

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

For most people, buying a car is a big thing and it takes a lot of time and effort in choosing the right car. You have to go to a dealership, have a look at the cars they have to offer, test drive a few cars and then probably go to another dealership if you don’t find anything you like in the first dealership.

First step before you do anything is to sit down at your computer and research. You need to make sure your first car is reliable, you don’t want to a car which going to cause you trouble starting it everyday. It is easy to get caught up in how cars look, but don’t make this mistake. Read up on the best rated cars and avoid those that get bad ratings like the plague.

Lucky you can learn a lot from car forums and blogs and definitely enough for you make a choice over what car to buy. Here are some important things to think about when buying your first car:

1. How much do you have to spend?

2. Who is going to be driving your car?
3. What size car are you looking for?
4. What is your maximum budget for petrol?
5. Do you have preference over whether the car is new or used?

Once these questions are answered you what you’re looking for so can start tracking the car down. Another big aspect to buying your first car is insurance, this can be very expensive and dictate what kind of car you can buy. Used cars will have more affordable insurance compared to buying a brand new Audi for example.

There are many ways to save money in auto insurance, from finding the best package to lowering your rate by adding deductibles or being a named driver on parents insurance.

The Audi R8 is starting to make quite a name for its self as it was voted 2010 World performance Car at the world car awards in New York. It is no surprise the Audi R8 won world performance car featuring the latest FSI engine, with the use of which, it will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a time span of just 3.9 seconds. The Audi R8 pushes out 420 break horse power from its V8 engine and having four wheel drive enables it to corner extreme well. It of course features Audi’s trademark quattro four wheel drive system, nearly everything is made from aluminium and carbon fibre making super light and also features new LED lights.

The R8 is no stranger to this award also winning in back in 2008 for the original R8 supercar. This years win means Audi have managed to win this award three times in the last 5 years showing their dominance in the performance car market.

At a prestigious awards ceremony, the World Car Awards jurors said: “In the opinion of many on the World Car Awards jury, Audi has at long last satisfied our hunger for a street car that lives up to the excitement of the original Le Mans series-dominating R8 LMP1 race car.”

Cars Out Of Fashion

Sunday, April 4th, 2010

With more and more people looking to purchase bicycles over cars this year it would seem that people are actually caring more about whether their bike seat is hurting the groin area than getting a new Audi. Is this because people are genuinely caring about the environment now or  because the after effects of the recession are kicking in and the public are still not wanting to spend hard earned cash on big things like cars?

The motor industry on the whole has seen massive decline in the last couple of years and although this is partly down to the recession it is safe to say that it is often the companies own faults as well. A lot of the figures that I have seen have only been looking at sales that come through from the showrooms, the ones that are made over the net are actually on the rise. Don’t think that that Audi TT Roadster has to be a dream as the net is great for cheap cars.

Not only are people too scared to buy a vehicle they are also being constantly reminded on how bad driving a car is for the environment and although this is true it wouldn’t matter if we all stopped driving out cars, China would still be producing more CO2 than Great Britain. I really do think that it is very good that the five minute drive to work is only a 10 minute cycle in and a 15 minute walk in, perhaops people will get a bit of excercise.

There are many people that do not live too far away from their offices that really need to be walking or riding into work. So if you can why not ride or walk in, even if it is just a couple of times a week, that way you can still get your nice, new Audi R8.

Hot or Not Audi TT

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Audi broke the mold when its concept TT auto shows around the world during the mid1990s. Named for the illustrious yearly “Tourist Trophy” race held on the Isle of Man, the TT is predicated on the same platform which powers the Volkswagen Golf and the Skoda Octavia. Making use of anodized aluminum and a “bumper free” exterior, the TT coupe was not like any car of its time when the first production model was released in 1998. Today, the TT continues to garner awards and win praises from Audi fans. If you like the current model, just wait one year and you’ll witness the release of a TT that goes well outside the pale.

When talking about the TT, there are actually two models concerned : one being a coupe, the other a roadster. Shortly after the coupe’s introduction in 1998, the roadster version was released the following summer. Both models were originally powered by a twenty valve inline 1.8L four cylinder engine, however in subsequent years each model received a stronger version of that engine while a 3.2L V6 was introduced as a choice during 2003. The TT gets power from its front wheels, but Quattro all wheel drive is available as well.

Audi’s success with the TT has helped it to cautiously develop its second generation model. Nearly a full decade after the first model made its debut the chase up TT is being readied and will go into production in 2007. The new TT will feature the following attributes:

Longer and Wider : tiny changes in its width and length will be merged into the new model. Expect more cabin room for added interior comfort.

Aluminum and Steel: The new TT will be made of aluminum in the front and steel in the rear to encourage a better weight balance.

More Power : The 1.8L I4 engine will get replaced with a 2.0L I4 engine. The 3.2L V6 will continue to be offered, producing 250 horsepower. A 6 speed manual transmission will be standard equipment.

More Models: The coupe and dragster will be introduced back to back with a 3rd model, potentially a wagon version, also being considered for production.

Principal competitors for the Audi TT have been the BMW Z4 and the Mercedes SLK. The TT’s styling inspiration has found its way onto several other models including the Saturn Sky, Mazda Miata, Nissan 350Z, and the Pontiac Solstice. In all, the Audi TT has reinvigorated the roadster market and it would seem that the imminent TT will expand on that theme even further. This is excellent news for enthusiasts who need a unique and well engineered 2+2 vehicle as part of their driving stable.

Capabilities of the Audi A4

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

It is quite certain that there are already a big number of vehicle present in these modern times.  As a matter of fac~n important poin~n interesting point, one of the most well liked among these manufacturers is the Audi AG, which is actually a German vehicle maker.  This manufacturer has essentially produced plenty of car models already from the most straightforward automobiles up to the most classy autos.  One of its excellent models is the Audi A4, which was initially released in the car industry in the year 1994.  This vehicle model is known to be one of the best products of Audi AG due to its remarkable structure and engine.

The A4 model of Audi AG has already been launched in four generations.  The first generation is the supposed B5 or Typ 8D, which is made of the customary four-wheel drive and a front mounted longitudinal kind of engine.  The second generation on the other hand, is dubbed as B6 or Typ 8E/8H that has an overall design derived from C5 and that has a mileage base model of 1.6 litres.  In the later part of 2004, Audi introduces its A4’s 3rd generation which is the B7.  It has a better steering features and a new in-built internal combustion engine that will guarantee a smooth car run.  And the newest generation for A4 of Audi is the B8 or Typ 8K, that has without a doubt an exceptional engine and fantastic car structure.

Indeed, Audi A4 is a good vehicle model from a respected car manufacturer.  It has invaded the vehicle market since the late 1990’s and is continually gaining much attention up to these days because of its tremendous improvements in design, structure, mechanical engine, and mileage capacity.  Thus, there is no query why Audi AG is beginning to become more and more popular as the time goes by.

What do you think of the Audi R8?

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

“The slowest car we have ever built”.

Audis intelligent little strapline was the first thing to cathcy my eye about the R8, and it was quickly followed by the smooth and clever advert. I remember it being a dull evening, but that advert really caught my eye and grabbed my attention. The birth of the obsession was, it seems, incredibly fast.

Audi’s new supercar didn’t just have me as an admirer in the end. In fact, everwhere I went for months was full of stories talking about this new car. They may have been writing all over the web, but everyone was talking about the same thing – how gorgeous it is. I have yet to come across anyone who actively dislikes the car, suggesting that maybe Audi have managed to get it perfectly right.

Even when they are chunky, Audi cars stay good looking. Comparing a car to a bull has always been one of Audis favourite metaphors, and that is the image that has buried itself in my mind. The Audi TT started life as an average car, and then soon was improved to become a wonderful coupe. They clearly didn’t need any more inspiration – as they went on to produce this lovely car.

The Audi R8 looks stunning. From the beefy yet sleek grille through to the wonderfully ground-clinging shape, this is a car that needs to go incredibly fast from the word go. Even more than that, this car is clad in super lightweight materials, which contrast brilliantly with the verical panels and make this into even more of a supercar. Come rain or shine, that beautiful shape never fails to give me goosebumps, and that is even when they are covered in mud. Alongside the stunning supercar R8, Audi are now releasing the Audi R8 Spyder – although personally I prefer the shape of the original.

To be honest, the impressive V10 engine is actually just an added bonus when faced with such brilliant good looks. No matter what the stats and specifications actually say, it is the car in real life that tells you everything you could ever want to.

Impressively, if you want to own a used Audi R8 rather than an expensive new one, the cost is quite dramatically reduced. I know people who have bought them at dealerships, and many of them haven’t paid much more that a tiny (relatively) £65k. If you have been thinking about buying one and had been worrying about the price, therefore, it seems it isn’t perhaps such a big problem. OK, OK, most of us still can’t afford even that price. But for now, a simple used Audi will be the first step on the ladder!

Customers can buy recent Audi A4 in wagon

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

The Audi A4 has the characteristic of single-handedly refreshing the Audi product after the large sales drop a considerable time back.  Commenced in the mid 1990s, the Audi A4 quickly proved to be a much-loved choice among top end car clients, credits to its fine-looking, polished compartment, pointy handling and obtainable Quattro all-wheel drive.  Taut panel openings, first-rate materials and definite, comfortable seating provide the interior the appropriate EU setting, as a flexible journey and agreeable performance make the Audi A4 an ideal road trip selection.

although those centre features have always been part of the Audi A4’s personality ever since, this Audi that has typically been presented in lorry, convertible and sedan body modes has turned out to be more refined with each succeeding production.  It doesn’t matter what age you are looking at though, because the Audi A4 will present agile performance and a relaxing and appealing compartment.  Just put in the attraction of all-wheel drive then it’s simple to see why the Audi A4 has changed into a major selection for an entry-level top end car.

customers can buy the recent Audi A4 in wagon, sedan and convertible constructions.  The Audi A4 truck and sedan are already in their 4th production, which started for the 2009 model year.  Judged against the past vehicle models, the current Audi A4 vans and sedans present more interior area, augmented driving dynamics and better high-technology gizmos.  Audi A4 convertibles have not been manufactured on the 4th generation current platform yet, so Audi goes on selling 3rd generation models in the meantime.

Wagons and sedans fuelled by the 2.0T are presented with 3 trims : Premium, Premium Plus and top of the line prestige.  Sedans that are powered by the V6 are presented in only two top trims.  A routing methodology is among the available choices, and it is proffered on all three of the body styles.

Ford Are Rasing Prices Again

Monday, December 28th, 2009

Ford are going to be raising the prices of their cars for the fourth year in a row this year which is pretty silly. They are blaming it on the value of the pound and because they are a company working in Euros they are obviously seeing the effect of the recession. However is this really an excuse to put the prices up once again?

Well the real likelihood is, not very likely no simply because they have already put the prices of their cars up three times meaning that now they are really just being a bit greedy more than anything else. Of course it is not exactly uncommon for the big companies to go down this route for a bit of extra money from each customer. However when you look at another 2.7% increase on all of their new cars which means you are going to be spending a lot more money on that new Ford car in fact it would be that if the car is setting you back at £10000 it would actually now cost you areound £11600 which is a massive increase.

It is not understandable why companies like this are even starting to justify how they are getting away with this. However companies such as Audi are selling a fair few used cars trying to push through their competitors like Ford. To be honest the lost of 800 jobs in Ford in the UK is not surprising when they are charging prices like this to their customers.

So here’s to buying a new Audi over a ford because it looks like the “> Audi R8 are going to be a hell of a lot cheaper than the costs that Ford are beginning to throw at the British public. Fight back and simply ignore the costs by not buying their rip of vehicles.

Fuel Pumps To Help Out New Audi Cars?

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

More charge up points are always being considered and it is well worth looking into it all.

Although London is actually he first place that this all started to happen there have been many other cities now interested in the idea. Of course you may be aware that the next place going electric is going to be Brighton.

The main reason that Brighton was chosen as the next place is because the company that installs all of these pumps is actually based in Brighton and they have installed more than 100 in London so far. Brighton only currently has four stations that can be accessed which for such a big place is nothing at all.

The great thing about the Elektrobay is that it allows you to fully charge any plug-in Hybrid car, all customers also get a keyfob to unlock the station.

The move to a smaller town signifies a huge step in the uptake of the idea of electrified transportation.

There are two major reasons why people are just not buying these cars, one is that there are not enough places to charge it up and two is that they are still a bit pants. People are jsut not interested because of these two reasons.

However, once there is somewhere to charge up people will get them and that will in turn create demand for more research funding to make better cars.

So although at the moment there are not that many places where you can actually charge up your vehicle, if you give it a bit of time there is sure to be a lot more.

The real question that needs to be asked is will they be upgrading things like used cars to make them greener? If you have recently gone out and purchased a Audi R8 then you are not going to be pleased when you cannot upgrade it to make it a bit greener. Audi Cars is merely one of the brands that needs some serious attention.

The Newest Green Car

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

The Riversimple urban car actually has a very small fuel cell and looks like it is going to be the smallest one to date so far.

It depends on what kind of car you are interested in but if you are into the smaller cars you will love this as it is no bigger than the smart car. It is actually quite a good car for someone living in a city as it can reach a top speed of 50mph which isnt bad for a car of this type.

Power comes from a 6kw fuel cell, which is tiny compared to the 100kw system powering the Honda Clarity. Something that is very high in importance when it comes to this car is keeping the weight down which is why it is able to be quite speedy.

There is a bank of ultracapacitors to store this electricity, which in turn provides most of the accelerating power, allowing for a small fuel cell.

Design for the Riversimple cars will be placed online in an 'open source' environment, meaning any small manufacturer can lease the design, better suiting local environments and allowing for the car to be built almost anywhere in the world.

One of the great things is that you can lease this car and the lease will actually cover you for the cost of the fuel too.

Hugo Spowers, head of Riversimple, said: "Cars evolved under very different constraints to those of today, so we must move on. The sale of cars still rewards the maximisation of resource use – whereas we now accept that we must minimize resource use.”

“The Riversimple Urban Car represents a major step towards practical 21st century personal transport and towards the fulfilment of my great-grandfather’s ambitions for accessible personal transport but this time combining his other passions: light weight and high efficiency,” said Piech.

The real question to ask is will they be upgrading things like used cars to make them greener? If you have recently gone out and purchased a Audi R8 then you are not going to be pleased when you cannot upgrade it to make it a bit greener. New Audi are just one of the brands that needs to be looked into.
